Every year one of my favorite things to do is see the Community Christmas trees at the zoo! We always find a few faves and fun ideas on those trees! This is the perfect day after Thanksgiving trip for us. We always enjoy a good walk and the fresh air and nobody is here (they're all crazy and at the stores- not for us one bit).
Here's a Disney themed big tree. The tree had the villains all over it and in the cage were the princesses. Too funny.
This snowman s'more was adorable!
We finally got to see the baby Amur leopard cubs out! They are so big already, at 6 months old. They were so playful! So fun to watch.
Another cute Disney tree!

Brownies Painting Party!
Annabel joined a new Girl Scout troop this year and it's just worked out beautifully. This troop does so many amazing things for the girls and for charity and just for fun. One activity we did was a fun painting party to get the moms and girls together for some social fun outside of official troop activities. Such a great idea! We had a GREAT time!
We painted a pair of snowmen pictures that can be lined up together to make one picture. They turned out so cute! We're glad we had this chance to have a light and fun afternoon together!

Lately- October/November Edition!
October and November lately, huh? Wow, I'm behind. Well, I'll get started.
This first picture was taken way back when weather was still warm obviously because here you'll see Annabel in a towel, on our driveway. That's because she was about to start her bath when Daniel hollered, "Annabel! Come out and see!!" Right above our house was a whole arc of a rainbow! Beautiful!!
And then- not even a week later...another one!! Complete with a rosy pinkish purple sky, too! And a double rainbow to boot (though that's hard to see).
Our kitties still love to "help" in the kitchen, especially with the dishwasher!
They can also be found here- in our mud nook on the kids' backpacks!
Daniel celebrated his tenth birthday with a friend at the beginning of October. We took them to play laser tag and then came home for pizza, play time, and brownies!
These kitties sure love to be with us! Ziggy can always be found on someone's chair during dinner or games.
I love this picture of Daniel and Ziggy. Daniel was cradling Ziggy, who had hopped right up in the middle of our game of Fluxx. We had to help Daniel out every time it was his turn. It reminded me of what it was like when our kids were tiny babies and we'd do the same thing during meals or games only with a baby instead of a cat! So many awkward one armed meals and games!
For Daniel's birthday, Grandma Cheryl took Daniel and I to see Shrek the Musical. It was hysterical and we just loved it! Daniel laughed and laughed- it was the best to watch him! Lunch was a delicious meal at Cheesecake Factory!!
Annabel has been into doing hair for her American Girl doll, Felicity. This time was particularly cute because Ziggy curled right up against Annabel and went to sleep. So sweet!
Check out Felicity's buns! Annabel's trying her own hair, too!
Kitchen cuddles for kittens!
Daniel was inspired to paint a "Positive Graffiti" poster (he'd been doing this at school), so we all headed to the basement to paint one night. It was so fun! It's been a while since we painted and I loved watching my kids hard at work.
Annabel's Brownie troop went to the Humane Society for a field trip in October. It was an interesting trip and we saw many cute kitties (and we saw dogs, though we aren't dog people one bit). Good thing we already have two kittens of our own!
Could they be any sweeter?!
Annabel has been making up recipes a lot this fall. It's so cute. These are peanut butter fudge cups. They were pretty sweet, but she had fun!
See? Cats on backpacks. Maybe they don't want the kids to leave?
Actually, funny thing is now the cats know when we are getting ready to leave, so they come and sit on the mat by the garage door whenever anyone is nearby, getting shoes coats or whatever, even a handful of recycling going out- they know what's up. Cosmo, especially, is becoming quite the escape artist! We have to race the cats or distract them or else Cosmo just might run out. He's escaped our notice a couple times and a few minutes later one of us will wonder where the cats are and I will open the garage door to let a now quite cold kitty in. Ahem, Cosmo- will you learn your lesson, eh?!
Ooh- found proof of Cosmo trying to escape!
The kids had a Crazy Hair Day at school one Friday a while back. Annabel had all sorts of plans for her hair! (It's not Daniel's "thing" to do these school spirit days.) We braided her bangs. Then we did two side braids and two braids in the back. One thing to know about me- I don't "do" hair. I'm terrible at it. Really terrible. I tell the kids this all the time. So while I was working on her hair that morning, Annabel piped up, "You're the perfect mom to do crazy hair because you're the worst at it." Wow. Blunt, eh?! But I laughed because- SO true!! It was a good day for me to do hair indeed because it didn't matter how it turned out one bit. But it all actually turned out super fun! We put clips she used to use in preschool at the ends of all the braids to add to the wackiness and off she proudly went with really crazy hair!
Cozy babies! They were so sick this one week, they just snuggled and slept a lot and wanted us around ALL the time. They do anyway, but especially this week, poor babies. Snapped this adorable picture! It's on my Christmas card this year, too!
Pumpkin pie making is serious business!
And now I'll work on some more event and seasonal catching up I've got to do!! But that's all our randomness up through November!
