Winter Baking Fun

Baking is back!

Here are a few glimpses of my busy baker and some of the yummy things she's made this winter so far!

Gooey Coconut Almond Chex Mix! This was dang good. I could have eaten the whole pan right then and there.

Chocolate Lava Cakes!

Chocolate cupcakes! She loves to pipe the frosting on, too.

Cookies & Cream cupcakes with Chocolate Frosting!

She's so cutely pleased when her piping turns out well! It's adorable.

A two-layer Carrot Cake with Cream Cheese Frosting! Annabel loved trying out her new cake leveler.

She's still at it! (Though I can't remember what she made here.)

Our Life: February 2022

February randoms...pictures of our life on any given day...

Annabel used her new hiking sticks to walk to school in the snow! She was so excited Daddy suggested this! We had to walk in the streets, too, that's how much snow we got that time!

Clearly Cosmo was bored. He opened the bathroom door, the bathroom cabinet, and then made himself a nest out of the sink. Sigh. We finally bought round doorknobs. Guess which door we put the round handles on first?!

We finished this puzzle in a matter of days. It was so fun!

Annabel's current event of the month featured a young girl, Zara Rutherford (https://flyzolo.com), who was the youngest woman ever (at 19 years old) to fly solo around the world and the youngest person to fly solo around the world in a microlight plane. It was so fun to learn all about this girl's journey! Annabel knocked her presentation out of the park!

Pile of kitties.

Our school did a raffle prize to go with our One School One Book read for this year, Charlotte's Web. Ben and I were happy to donate the prize and I had SO much fun shopping for it. I made two prize bundles. The bundles included the softest plush pig, an art print, and a pig-shaped pop-it (pop-its are SO trendy right now and this was a big hit!!). My bundles looked SO cute I thought, so I had to share.

In keeping with being creative and having fun, my librarian friend, Lynne, after seeing the vase I made for Amelia at Christmas, asked if I would make one for her daughter since her daughter also loves Harry Potter. I was so happy to do this for her and had a lot of fun working it out to fit the shape she gave me. It's just about finished here...

Ta-da! Looks AWEsome I think! Lynne loved it and she can't wait to give it to her daughter! I was so pleased with how it turned out. It's so fun! Her daughter's house is Gryffindor, hence the colors red and gold.

Google photos reminded me of this moment two years ago. I love this picture!!

Google also made this cute collage of Daniel. LOVE it!

Game time for Daniel, snuggle time for Cosmo.

If something is left on the table, you can bet Ziggy will sit on it.

After waiting months (months!!!) Annabel's new backpack finally arrived!! She was SO excited to start using it! It's much bigger than her last backpack and fits everything she has to bring to school and back every day...which is a lot in 5th grade, it turns out. I don't know how she carries that thing!

Play time with Hannah! So fun!

Cosmo has been sleeping in this spot a lot lately. It's so cute to find him there.

When the snow from our big storm melted, after the kids made all those fun tunnels, this is how it melted. You could see where their paths were- I thought this was kind of cool.

Annabel's Girl Scout troop did a cookie booth one Friday evening. It was COLD that night, but the girls did a great job and had fun!

Shutterfly sent me this memory! (From February 2015) So fun! Of course Daniel looked at this pictures and goes, "Where's THAT Lego guy?" Beats me, hon. Around here somewhere I'm sure, haha.

This picture of Annabel was in the same Shutterfly reminder and it cracked me up!! That dress. The hoodie. Those boots. The hair. That face! I loved everything about it!! I love that she's writing, too.

Kitty soaking up the sunshine.

Daniel wasn't feeling well one day, so he stayed home from school. We rested quite a bit and played a little Lego, too. Kitties kept us company of course.

Another visit to see Hannah! I can't get enough of her cuteness!!

Annabel had a "culture/personality" shield to do for a school community project. I forgot to take a picture of the completed thing, but you can see a little of how it turned out. It was cute and featured things she likes.

One day, I was watching HILARIOUS videos of the kids doing these "unboxing" videos, a la videos they watched on YouTube back then which used to drive me NUTS. (This was from October 2017, not on the blog, sorry!) After school I showed the videos (which amounted to many many minutes) to Daniel who kept laughing and shaking his head and wondering what he was thinking, which was all so cute, too. Anyway, while I was showing him, the cats all literally came and crowded him, which just made us laugh even more! It was so funny. (Annabel wanted no part of the embarrassment of watching these videos, so she didn't stick around, haha. That's okay, but good golly I loved this little glimpse of my younger babies and someday she'll see why moms eat this stuff up, I hope.)
