Bikers!

On my wish list for a few years: a new bike for me.
My early Mother's Day present: a new bike for me!!! YAY!

I've been dying to go for bike rides with the kids for years now, but I wanted a new bike, which of course didn't happen the last two summers (darn health issues, but we're past that now!) and we finally made it happen this spring. Now bring on summer!! I can't wait! I just LOVE my new bike!!

Annabel also got a new bike this spring, because, you know, she's getting taller and she outgrew her last bike (which was a hand-me-down from Grandma Mary Kay's neighbor anyway- win win!). Annabel was SO excited to pick out her new bike. She really wanted an aqua colored bike and we found it! It's perfect and adorable. Annabel helped Daddy put it together and we went for a ride right away!

We can't wait to ride lots more this summer. We've already done a nice long five mile bike ride to a nearby lake, around, and back. We also rode our bikes to the library down the street. So fun! I'm dreaming of riding to our local Dairy Queen on our bikes, too! Now if we can just get Daniel to get on his bike some more...

And finally, Daniel is trying out his bike! This is huge for him, really. He did great for a driveway or so (YAY!)- as evidenced in the pictures, but, he's really 100% a scooter man in terms of preference.  The scooter just can't be locked up, so that limits what we can do in terms of going places where we might need to lock it up, say, the library. The bike just offers so many more options and can be bike-locked, so we will keep working on him! Still, this was a big step and we're proud of him for trying and confident he can get there if he just keeps at it!
