Pumpkin Patch Fun

Last Friday we went to our local pumpkin patch. Daniel was very excited to go- he talked about it all week and all that morning. He told me he wanted to find the "hugest pumpkin"- his words! "And one for Annabel- a small one." As we pulled out of our subdivision, Daniel all of a sudden exclaimed, "Uh-oh, we got-for a wheelbarrow!" It was pretty cute and I thought pretty clever that he thought it would come in handy! I told him there would be wagons there to help us, so that was the first thing we did when we got there- we picked up a wagon at the entrance. Daniel wanted to pull it and he did a pretty good job of staying out of the way of people- he kept telling people he was staying out of their way, too. As soon as we got to the entrance of the huge tent filled with pumpkins, Daniel pretty much dropped the wagon handle and picked up the first pumpkin he saw! It was a great pumpkin, pretty huge, so that's the one we got- Daniel's pick! We walked around a little bit more, with Daniel very hard to pull the wagon, which he could do once he got the momentum going. We took a few pictures and then set off to find a small pumpkin for Annabel, again, Daniel's pick with a little support from Mommy since many of the smaller ones had holes in them. We found out that Daniel's pumpkin weighed 30 lbs (bigger than him!) when we checked out. We took a few pictures on the hay stacks set up for photo ops and headed home, since Annabel was pretty much done and ready for her nap. We'll time it better next time!

Enjoy some fun pics!

Disclaimer- Annabel may have LOVED picking up dirt, hay, rocks, and she did get her hands full of them, but she did not get any in her mouth!

Here's Daniel ready to find a pumpkin!

Daddy and Annabel follow Daniel.

This was the first pumpkin Daniel found!
He tried to pick it up- It was a little heavier than he thought!

Daddy helps Daniel put the pumpkin in the wagon.

Daniel works hard to pull the wagon with the pumpkin in it!

Daniel found a stem and wanted to put it back on a pumpkin.

Annabel got a chance to check out the pumpkins, and the dirt.

BIG pumpkins and tiny Annabel!

My cute family!

Checking out the hay!
Nothing would distract Annabel from the very interesting hay!

A sweet picture of my two kiddos!
It was hard to get them both to look at the camera...
they sort of had minds of their own that day!

So now we've got a couple great pumpkins to carve and decorate for Halloween! That will be lots of fun!!
