Fun at the Musem of Science and Industry!

Last Saturday we spent the day at the Museum of Science and Industry, taking Grandma Mary Kay, Grandpa Larry, and Great Uncle Tim with us! We had a great time! There's a Disney exhibit going on now that we really wanted to see and I love this museum at Christmas time, so we thought we'd grab the chance to go. We purchased tickets ahead of time so we were all set, too, especially since the Disney exhibit is a timed entry and does get sold out. Daniel remembered a lot about this museum from our visit last year, so his biggest request was to play in the water ball area, surprise surprise, so that's where we started. The kids both had a lot of fun there- so many neat little experiments to do there with water, lights, sound, air, cranks, blocks, and so on.

We headed to the Disney exhibit and enjoyed walking around there (the kids were less than impressed- but did have fun with the magnetic castle pieces and enjoyed pointing out any Mickeys or characters they recognized, otherwise it was mostly geared to adults as it was about Walt Disney's life, accomplishments, and breakthroughs in animation). It was an okay exhibit. I enjoyed the chronology of animation developments and thinking about some of the movies I've enjoyed over the years and how each was done differently and what was special and unique about them, and so on. We had a yummy lunch in the cafeteria (both kids ate all of their lunch- shockingly!) and then we spent time in other areas of the museum- planes, farm, trains, circus, the play area again, and so on. We were there for a long time, just having fun wandering all over. We headed out late afternoon to go play and have dinner at Grandma Mary Kay's, heading home to get the kids to bed early- they were tired! So were we!
