Even MORE Snow!

Last night, we got even more snow- quite a few inches worth this time, too! It was really fluffy and so pretty- Daniel noticed that it really sparkled on the way to school this morning, which was so cute for him to point out, I thought. The kids talked the whole way to school of plans to go sledding later on (Annabel really wanted to use the spinning sled), and as I drove home, I had the brilliant idea of picking them up after school and heading straight to our sledding hill, after all, they wear all their gear to school so they were sure dressed for it. Why go home and peel everything off only to head back out again later? That didn't sound all that fun...but sledding straight after school, now that sounded like a blast and a fun surprise! And to top it off- even Daddy took the time to come with us! The kids were ecstatic when they saw Daddy in the car at pick up, because they knew that meant we were going sledding right then! We had the most fun! It was COLD, so COLD, and the snow was almost deemed too fluffy for sledding after a few disappointing no-gos, but we kept at it and ended up with some awesome runs down the hill on both the long sled and the spinning round one. We were so glad we kept trying. It was so fun to watch the kids have a ball and squeal with delight. Daniel worked so hard at making the long sled go on his own- he'd drop the sled and basically run and jump onto it causing it to slide into action. It was so cool to watch him I loved his earnestness, excitement, and his awesome independence. And Annabel- she loved the round sled, she loved putting her arms in the air, yelling "wheeee," and she even went down on her belly on the long sled. Annabel and I went down the hill together several times, too, which she just loved, mostly because with the two of us, we'd end up going backwards and that's just so fun. She's so fearless and if she weren't so cold, she could have kept going for a lot longer, I think. We came home to warm up, have some lunch, and not much later, we were back out shoveling our driveway and playing in the snow in our front yard, all under the watchful eye of lion and kitty cat, you'll see. Such a fun day!

Here's a video of some of the sledding fun!
