We had a blast getting ready in many ways.
New ornaments, as per tradition...
The new ornaments go on the tree first.
Tree decorating...
(this time a new slightly smaller, super cheap tree just in case of kitty chewing-
they actually did pretty well; I just didn't trust them with my gorgeous super nice tree- hopefully next year! And then this tree will go in my bedroom- I can't wait!)
Tree packaging becomes a hat!
Daniel built a fireplace mantel and tree scene with Legos. Super cute!
This is where we would often find the kitties!
Could this picture be any cuter?!!
Daniel was the photographer.
Santa hats!
Plus a hug attack sequence.
Cute new Christmas shirt, too!
Santa and his sleigh plus a close up of that adorable fireplace mantel and tree, complete with presents and a snack for Santa! Love it!
Letters, notes, projects, and more love for Santa (and his elf- Annabel didn't want Santa's elf to be left out!) left by our fireplace for an elf to come pick up during the night! A tradition the kids have kept up for years now!
Another snowy winter village put together by Daniel. SO clever!!
That was all before December 1st- all of the above. Yep. They were pretty excited for December to start! And when it did- the countdown began with all our advent calendars. Shopkins for Annabel (homemade by mommy), Lego for Daniel, David's Tea for Mommy (yes! a new tea every day! so fun!! how did I not know this was a thing before?!), and a special advent calendar for Mommy made by Annabel (the sweetest!). So fun!
Annabel's advent calendar that she made for me included how to draw instructions a few times. Most of the time I got strips of paper that had a little made up recipe on it- like, swirl a candy cane in cool whip, cut cake into squares and dip into chocolate and add sprinkles, and her favorite one- freeze root beer in an ice cube tray. Super fun, cute, and clever! Love that girl!
Annabel enjoyed my tea advent calendar just as much as I did! She wanted to open each one for me every day. And she even tried a few of the teas with me. Her favorite was Sleigh Ride. My favorite was Candy Cane Crush. We bought more of those to last us a while!
Anther shot of that awesome Winter Village.
Aunt Amelia stopped by one day with cookies for the kids to paint- so fun!
